How to add TikTok LIVE alerts to OBS
Show TikTok LIVE gifts, follows, shares and chat on your OBS stream with two browser sources. A step-by-step guide.
Overtok Team · PublishedTikTok LIVE alerts make viewers feel seen: when someone sends a gift or follows, everyone on stream sees it. OBS doesn’t read TikTok events by itself, so you need a tool that turns them into an overlay. This guide uses Overtok.
What you need
- OBS Studio (or any streaming app that supports browser sources)
- A TikTok account that can go LIVE
- An Overtok account (7-day free trial, no card)
Step 1: Connect your TikTok username
Sign up at Overtok and enter your TikTok username on the dashboard. Overtok uses it to follow your LIVE. It never asks for your TikTok password.
Step 2: Add the alerts overlay
- Copy the Alerts URL from your dashboard.
- In OBS, click + under Sources and choose Browser.
- Paste the URL, set the width to 1920 and the height to 1080, and click OK.
Step 3: Add the chat overlay
Repeat step 2 with the Chat URL. Move and resize the chat source wherever it fits your layout.
Step 4: Test before you go live
Click Test gift or Test follow on your dashboard. The alert appears in OBS right away, so you can position it without starting a stream.
Tips
- Gift combos show once, with the total count, so a 50× Rose streak doesn’t flood your screen.
- If you ever share your overlay URL by accident, click Regenerate URLs and paste the new ones into OBS.
